I keep turning to flower images for my cards at the moment, Spring must be on the way! Thank goodness we've had a bit of sunshine, even if it.s still pretty cold. This card uses another gorgeous Fred She Said image, this time it's Lily of the Valley, which you can buy in the shop here. I've coloured with Copics and edged with Adirondack dye ink, which I've also sponged onto the bubble embossed border. The DPs are Basic Grey Marjolaine, border uses a Martha Stewart String Lace punch and there are some gems in the corners of the Nestie Labels cut image.
Welcome to another Top Tip Tuesday Challenge! This week Dawn has a great tutorial about using scraps of ribbon, be sure to check it out at the challenge blog. You can either follow her tutorial or make a girlie project - oops I misread the challenge and simply used ribbon! I've used a piece of wide lacy ribbon as well as a small piece with unusual dots on that I've been hoarding for my card.
I couldn't resist sitting down last night and playing with some of my lovely new stash; this card is the result. The Faye Whittaker stamp from Joanna Sheen is one I just couldn't resist when I saw the release, there are so many lovely stamps in this series and I managed to hold back and just order one (oh and a decoupage set!). The Basic Grey Curio DP and the MS border punch were both presents from my DH, he's very good at stash shopping:).I added apunched flower and leaves and a butterfly, there is one pearl among the Stickles on her hat and more on the image and the border. She's coloured with Copics and the background uses Distress Inks (Shabby Shutters, Victorian Velvet).
Good morning, it's Friday - hooray - so it is time for a new Phindy's Place Challenge. This week we're making cards for Valentines Day or for a loved one. I've used the adorable image "We meet again" from the Phindy's Place store. This image is very evocative of my marriage: two people with a terrier constantly doing its best to get between us lol! For our hop we chose our favourite FSS image and used it in our favourite style. Now I can't possibly pick a favourite image so I've chosen the new sunflowers because I love flower cards and I especially love sunflowers. I've based my card on this week's sketch at Card Patterns Challenge. I've used a combination of ready coloured images from Sunflowers and Thankfulness (the decoupaged flowers at the top) and the Sunflowers and Pumpkin digi coloured with Copics and Distress Inks. I wanted to make an interesting frame for the image so I used a labels Nestie and then added some scrolls cut with a punch. Large ric-rac came from a ribbon shop, border punch is Martha Stewart.
I should be getting ready for my holiday, but I couldn't resist making a quick card with Birdie, an image from a new Phindy's Place series. She is so quick to colour and looks adorable! I've used a fun sketch from Card Patterns Challenge for my layout and the background is a check from Basic Grey's Kioshi collection as this week's Simon Says Challenge is "check it out". I'm entering Copic Creation's Challenge which is Birds, but I have to say that having seen the DT's work, which has almost a photographic quality, my little birdie is a bit, umm, inadequate :). A new challenge for me: Sir Stampalot's Challenge is lazy, hazy days of summer.
I was lucky enough to win at Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge last week and I wanted to join in again with one of the lovely images that I won. This week's challenge is to make a black and white card where the only colour used is on the image. When I saw this week's Card Patterns Sketch I knew just how I wanted to do my card! I'm also entering it for A Spoonful of Sugar's Floral Delight challenge.
I've just completed this card and I'm really not too sure about it. Mmm... here goes:). My crafting friend Val was kind enough to bring over her new Sweet Pea stamps recently and I was the first to get them inky, stamping a few sheets of images. I've been rather shying away colouring these challenging images, there are some wonderful cards around made with them. First go was in conventional green and pink and looked ok-ish. I discarded it when I found a smudge that looked like a failed tattoo on her shoulder:).
Geraniums are so evocative of summer, that lovely scent that they give off when they are 
bathed in sunshine is second to none. Today I've had a day off work and filled my pots and tubs with geraniums and other tender plants, I just hope the summer is as kind to them as it is today:).
It's Friday, the sun is shining and thank goodness it's the weekend. It's time to take Phindy's Friday Challenge, this week it's to make a masculine card or project. I think this has been my most unproductive week for cards ever, I've just not been inspired. However here's a card I've been thinking about making for ages, with one of DH's fishing flies attached for a present. In reality, when it's sent, it will have several smaller, more useful flies attached, but to take the photo I've used one of the larger more colourful flies so that it shows up:).

Here is this week's Designed2Delight challenge card, as before it's a progressive freebie: make and blog a card with the free image and receive the next image free. I will admit that I had a problem with this image, until I went back to Faith's email, where she points out that she left the bear's mouth "as is", so you can add his expression. Once I drew a smile in, he looked like a happy bear rather than a "sorry I messed up" bear:).
This week's Designed2Delight image is of a garden angel. After the winter we've just had my garden is in dire need of some help, hopefully she can sprinkle a little magic... I've made my card using the sketch at Card Patterns Challenge , Secret Crafter's theme is pink, green and flowers, so that's the colourscheme sorted, Charisma Cardz' Challenge is Spring has Sprung and that gives my theme.
