Going to the Ball

This gorgeous Day for Daisies image is from the CDAC Progressive Freebie challenge, which I bought into last week; I'm going to try to play along each week for a while. All the folds in the dress colour like a dream, I loved making this card.  The DP is Crafty Individuals and I made it very girly with lace, ribbon and pearls, as well as some dry embossing.  The Swiss Dots are at an angle of the card, this was deliberate, honest lol!
My card is for:
Pixie Cottage - sketch
Totally Papercraft - ribbons & bows
Paper Sundaes - birthday
Incy Wincy - birthday
Creative Inspirations - inspired by polka dots (embossed dots)
Squigglefly - bright & sunny yellow

Red robins

I was lucky enough to win a random draw at A Day for Daisies' PCP group this month and I chose this stunning scene - trees, robins, landscape, it could have been made for me:).  If you enlarge the photo you can see I used my blender pen to give a snow falling look to the sky.  The Day for Daisies Challenge this week is texture and I added embossing, raised the image above the card with Pinflair Glue, added Card Candi and twine.  DP is Basic Grey Jovial.  The robins have Glossy Accents to give them a bit of dimension and to make them stand out.
My card is for the following challenges:
Floweret - Christmas again!
Crafty Ann - Christmas song (Let it Snow)
Little Claire - Christmas
I Did It - anything goes
Crafty Cardmakers - anything goes
Card Mad Fairy - too early for Christmas

Best Friends

Well that weekend did not go to plan!  I had a fun day at the Berkshire Show on Saturday, though I thought it wasn't as good as it has been in previous years.  Sunday was scheduled for garden tidy up, watching Stamp Addicts on TV and lots of crafting to get ahead.  So it was not helpful to trip over a low piece of trellis and fall - hard- onto the stone patio around the pebble fountain.  In the end, all I get done was the TV watching and some pruning before I fell :(.  Nothing is broken but I am bruised and very sore...

Anyhow back to cards and I made this for my Mum, Friday was the first anniversary of Dad's death.  The ribbon is navy and the DP pale blue, can't seem to get the colours quite right on this one.  The boy and his dog are an image from A Day for Daisies, DP is Memory Box.
I'm entering my card for;
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - sketch
Cute Card Thursday - anything goes

Aly's Sunday - add a bow
Card Cupids - anything goes
Crafty Emma's - embellish me more (ribbon & bow, button, twine, brads)
Papercraft Stars - anything goes
Bearly Mine - button it up

A Touch of Red

I really couldn't resist the new Christmas release at A Day for Daisies and this robin on a fence is gorgeous, isn't it?   I've used Copics, inks and Liquid Pearls to colour it, which sounds like a lot but really I just used a few colours.  The DP was a magazine freebie ages ago, sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and I've used a Cuttlebug folder to emboss the snowflakes on the white card strips.

The builders are hard at work and there is little space in the house anywhere to craft, but hopefully they are on target and will be through by the weekend, though the floor has to dry out fully before we can carpet, so no sitting room for at least another month:(.
My card is for the following challenges:
A Day for Daisies - a bit of holiday & a bit of red
Stamp Something - digi (sorry to see this challenge closing)
Paper Sundaes - Lisa's sketch
Papertake - anything goes
Shopping our Stash - birds bugs or beasts (no people).  Hmm it's stash but I just got it at the weekend... hope this counts

It's all in the detail

This beautiful image comes from A Day for Daisies, at first glance it looks like a pretty flower with a fairy perched on it...  then you see the bees, the ladybirds, and there are snails and  even a tiny worm on there too!  Mine are quite hard to pick out as I've used fairly natural colours.  I've used hot summer colours for the flower, added Stickles in lots of different colours to my image and brushed Distress Inks onto the background.  The DP is Basic Grey, sentiment from Craftwork Cards and the flowers centres are shadd with Copics to match the image.

My card is for the following challenges:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - sketch
A Day for Daisies - mystery ingredient (glitter)
Crafty Catz - no pink or blue
Your next stamp - 3 embellies, 2 DPs, 1 image
Flutterby Wednesday - open, use fairy or butterfly
Crafts & Me - add a flower
The Colour Dare - real red, peach parfait, pear pizzazz
Little Miss Muffett - summer
Charisma Cardz - summer colours
Fussy & Fancy - summer
Fairytale Challenge - summer sun

Little Lemon Bird

I think this image from A Day for Daisies looks like a fantasy goldfinch on a fantasy thistle plant, so that settled the colours as lilac and lemon, which fits both Simon Says and A Day for Daisies challenges for this week.  Pretty, isn't it?  I think it could also be a Christmas bird with a bit of tweaking of the colours...

The card is pretty clean and simple, image is coloured with Distress Inks, Copics and Glossy accents.  Sentiment is from Craftwork Cards, it is lilac though it doesn't look it in the photo.  Flowers are punched with Card Candy middles, DP is Crafty Individuals and Daisy Bucket, I used a Martha Stewart punch.

My card is for the following challenges:
Pixie Cottage - sketch
A Day for Daisies - pastels but no pink
Truly Scrumptious - things with wings
Simon Says - lemon and lavender
Digital Tuesday - flower power
Digi Design House - handmade flower
Forever Friends - birthday and animal

Bluebirds

What beautiful weather, I'm enjoying the sunshine but wondering whether my mojo has melted in the unaccustomed warmth.  I have managed to finish up this card which began life as something a little different.  It's based on Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  If you look under the centre panel there is another Basic Grey Curio DP, I attached the panel with a large decorative stitch on my sewing machine that went slightly off its line, which didn't look great.  So I cut it in half, reattached it under a new piece of ribbon and salvaged it.  The image is from A Day for Daisies, beautiful isn't she.  Colouring is Copics and Distress Inks, some doodling and dotting on the ground line.  Sentiment is Elusive Images, I've cut a large scroll in half to fill the corners and used flowers with card candy centres.
My card is for the following challenges:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - sketch
Basic Grey - stitching
Southern Girls - anything goes
Sweet Stampin' - something old, something new (sentiment is old, digi is new!)
Simply Create - fly with us
The Poodle Parlour - come fly with me

Boy, balloons and brads

I bought this adorable image from A Day for Daisies and have spent some time trying to figure out how to try something new with him as that is ADFD's current challenge.  I didn't like the things I tried out and gave up on that idea.  I followed the Sweet Sketch Wednesday layout, adding brads instead of flowers (after all it is a boy card!) but realised I didn't have any tiny red brads.  So I had a go at colouring a brad with my Copics, which worked fine and realised that in the end I had tried something new after all!
DP is K&K, had it for ages, brads are Papermania pastels, sentiment is LOTV.
My card is for the following challenges:
A Day for Daisies - try something new
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - sketch
Creative Craft World - 3 or more brads
Sweet Stamps - embossing
Dutch Dare - for the boys

Springtime Swing

I was lucky enough to win an image from A Day For Daisies last month and this is the image I chose, after much dithering.  There are so many stunning images but this one is just lovely, isn't it?  She's called Springtime Swing.  I used some more paper from the Memorybox Brioche pad that I'm obsessed by at present, if you look closley you can see that the branch is the wrong way up.  Sorry but it works for the card this way up, call it artistic license lol!  I followed the sketch from this week's ADFD's Challenge but I did move the position of the 3 brads...  Sentiment is a Sheena Douglass stamp.
My card is for the following challenges:
Pile it On - girls and boys come out to play
Moving Along With the Times - 2 Bs (brads, birds)
Scrapbook Sisters - the birds
Dutch Dare - winged things

Oh Baby!

Here's another card using that Memory Box Brioche DP, honestly this one was never intended to have Brioche DP but I saw that the plaid worked perfectly with the image and I had to use it for the background layer!  The image is one of the very generous freebies from A Day For Daisies, matted onto some dry embossed and inked Basic Grey DP from Porcelain.  I added some Prima flowers, which works for the Midnight Madness Sketch and sneaked in some ribbon which doesn't!  Zig-zag stitching secures the two layers.
My card is for the following challenges:
Midnight Madness - sketch
A Day For Daisies - oh baby
Bearly Mine - beautiful babies
Stamping Vacation - very vintage sewing
Card Creations & More - embossing
Sketchy Colours - pink, blue & green
The Cheerful Stamp Pad - little girls with curls

Magical fireflies

Here's a card I made for the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge, which celebrates 100 sketches this week.  My image is a freebie from A Day For Daisies, their sponsor, lovely isn't it?  I've colored with Copics, Distress Inks and Stickles.  Annoyingly, the Stickles have run a bit where I added Glossy Accents to the jar, even tough I left it nearly a week to apply it.  Hopefully it just makes the freflies light look diffused:).
The sentiment is Lily of the Valley, the DPs are Prima.

My card is for the following challenges:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge - sketch
Blogger's Challenge - nature
My Mum's Craft Shop - cute and girly

Dotty lady

Happy Easter to everyone, I hope you've enjoyed the sunshine and eaten lots of chocolate:).
I saw some gorgeous Cosmo Cricket DP in the Stamp Attic last week, there is also a big floral paper that goes with these.  Had to make a spotty, stripy card with them and this is what I came up with:).  The image is Corset from A Day for Daisies, this time I have coloured her with Copics,  I tried to give her spots on her bodice using my blender pen but wasn't happy with it so I added some white gel pen spots instead!  The card follows the sketch at My Time Made Easy and has some ribbon, tiny pink pearls and a MS punched border.
My card is for the folloiwng challenges:
My Time Made Easy - sketch
A Day for Daisies - dots and stripes
Papertake Weekly - spots n stripes
Creative Inspirations - digi day
I Did It Creations - 3 embellies, 2 papers, 1 image

Ballerina Girl

Tonight's is a quick posting, we are off tomorrow for four days of the best horse racing in the world, plenty to drink and eat and lots of highs and lows, hopefully more highs!  Yes, Cheltenham starts tomorrow...  See you when we return.  But now back to card blogging:)
This feminine card uses an image from A Day for Daisies, their current challegne is to make a Girly Girl card, they kindly provided this image free to use for the challenge.  My colours are a very girly pink, lemon and aqua that you can see in the 3 DPs from a Crafty Individuals pad.  My little ballerina is coloured with Copics and poppsed up with Pinflair glue on an embossed and inked circle.  I added pearls to her dress and across the card, some lace from stash and flowers from stash, as well as a Martha Stewart lacy outer border.  No sentiment as I'll add one when I send to card...
My card is for the following challenges:
A Day for Daisies - girly girl
Crafty Ann's - sketch
Totally Gorjuss - pearls & lace
Papertake - lemon zingy

On the subject of orchids...

For Valentine's Day I got a bee-yootiful orchid along with a tiny heart shaped fishing fly from my DH which reminded me that there is a free digi of an orchid on offer from A Day For Daisies, provided you enter their challenge.  I love these designs which are a little different from so many others out there, when my stash diet is over I plan to do a bit of shopping there:).   The challenge is Heavy Metal Rocks and I used mirri card and 3 different metallic ribbons do give this element as I tried adding metallics to the orchid and didn't like the effect.
The card is fairly clean and simple, it follows Saturday Sketcher's layout.  Image is coloured with Copics, DP is Basic Grey Porcelain and the rhinestones are Stampin' Up.

My card is for the following challenges:
A Day for Daisies - heavy metal rocks
Papertake Tuesday - putting on the glitz
Craft Your Passion - use pink
I Did It - bling it up
Paper Sundaes - toppings - I used pink and flowers
