Red robins

I was lucky enough to win a random draw at A Day for Daisies' PCP group this month and I chose this stunning scene - trees, robins, landscape, it could have been made for me:).  If you enlarge the photo you can see I used my blender pen to give a snow falling look to the sky.  The Day for Daisies Challenge this week is texture and I added embossing, raised the image above the card with Pinflair Glue, added Card Candi and twine.  DP is Basic Grey Jovial.  The robins have Glossy Accents to give them a bit of dimension and to make them stand out.
My card is for the following challenges:
Floweret - Christmas again!
Crafty Ann - Christmas song (Let it Snow)
Little Claire - Christmas
I Did It - anything goes
Crafty Cardmakers - anything goes
Card Mad Fairy - too early for Christmas

Creative Inspirations Challenge 65 - Summer

Here's my first card as part of the Design Team for the Creative Inspirations Challenge.  The theme is Summer and I found just the right wording on some Inklicious stamps.  I started out with a brayered background that I wasn't too happy with, so I overstamped it with my huge newspaper background stamp and then it looked fab!  The silhouette is a Stamp Addicts stamp, birds are Inkylicious too.  Background paper is Stampin' Up with a MS punch used on the corners.

I hope your Sunday is as warm and sunny as it is here, I'm off into the garden now to enjoy it:).

My card is also entered for:
Fairy Tale Challenges - summer, sun, sunshine

Clean & Simple Christmas

Today I return to work after a lovely two weeks off.  I just have a simple card to show you that is a Stampin' Up Make and Take from Newbury Stamp show a few weeks back.  This was shown to us by some lovely ladies and is a great idea for turning out a few effective but easy cards.  The demo used a pretty border punch but, ever the rebel, I chose to tear my layers:).  The bauble is stamped three times and folded and glued.  This is a nice 3D effect however it folds flat for posting - brilliant!
Enjoy your week, the sun is shining and maybe summer has arrived...

My card is for the following challenges:
Class Act Insider - Christmas
Delightful Challenges - Christmas in July
Digistamp4Joy - Christmas in July
Creative Inspirations - Christmas in July
Creative Inspirations Paint - inspired by Christmas

Phindy's Place Challenge #61 - Going Round in Circles

Welcome to this week's Phindy's Place Challenge, this week we are challenging you to use circles in your project.  I've used the image "Birdie" and made a vintage style card, following this week's sketch at Simon Says.  I hope you'll play along with us, don't forget you get two chances to win if you use a Phindy's Place image.
My image and sentiment are circles and the flowers I've added are all circular in shape.  Image is coloured with Copics and Distress Inks, sentiment is LOTV, the flowers were Blog Candy from the lovely Bente at Sketch Saturday.  I used Tim Holtz tissue tape pleated under the card, lace is from stash and DP is Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden.  Lace is from stash, scroll is Mairanne Creatables die, I've added lots of stitching to my layers.

Steppin' into Summer - June Tiffany Doodles Challenge

Good morning and welcome to summer - I hope!  Yesterday it felt like the return of winter but at least the sun is shining today.   We have a new challenges for you at Tiffany Doodles and some new DT members to introduce to you.  They are Anette, Sally and Judy and I'll link them here because I've just removed my sidebar list of Tiff's Team by mistake and will have to put it back later - ack!  All three ladies are awesomely talented, please do check out their blogs and welcome them:).

OK now onto the challenge, which is Steppin' into Summer.  There's a great prize of a $10 shopping spree in the store and if you don't know which image to pick there is a cute crab design as the current Thursday freebie if you check out the shop.   Fishing is the sign that summer really has arrived in this household, as DH heads off to the Windrush and the Leach and other Cotswold rivers, so I decided to use the Gone Fishing set which its stunning realistic drawings.

I've coloured with Copics, my Bass has a load of Glossy Accents which have given him a very lifelike shine and DH kindly let me have some feathers from his flytying stash.  I asked for teeny tiny feathers and that is what I got at first, I'm not sure I could see them without my glasses!  In the end he handed over some more visible feathers lol and I glued them to the fly.  The sentiment is from Create with TLC, the background in Dsitress Inked with Bundled Sage and Faded Jeans and overstamped in the Sage with an Elusive Images flower stem to look like weed.  The "line" is a striped rayon embroidery thread.  If you click on the picture you can see it better:)

My card is for the following challenges:
Moving along with the times - no designer paper
Digital Tuesday - outdoors
Paper Sundaes - let's get sentimental
One Stop Craft Challenge - texture
Stamp Something - June digi day
Cute Card Thursday - embellish it
Do it with digis - all about the boys

Pile it on - summer heaven

Dotty lady

Happy Easter to everyone, I hope you've enjoyed the sunshine and eaten lots of chocolate:).
I saw some gorgeous Cosmo Cricket DP in the Stamp Attic last week, there is also a big floral paper that goes with these.  Had to make a spotty, stripy card with them and this is what I came up with:).  The image is Corset from A Day for Daisies, this time I have coloured her with Copics,  I tried to give her spots on her bodice using my blender pen but wasn't happy with it so I added some white gel pen spots instead!  The card follows the sketch at My Time Made Easy and has some ribbon, tiny pink pearls and a MS punched border.
My card is for the folloiwng challenges:

Top Tip Tuesday Challenge - Show Me Those Buttons

Good Morning and welcome to this week's Top Tip Tuesday Challenge!  This week Samantha has a fabulous tutorial on altered buttons for you, be sure to visit the blog and check it out.  I learnt lots from it and can't wait to try out some of the ideas.  You can alter buttons for this week's challenge or you can simply use buttons, as I've done here.  I used a Pink Petticoat digi and sentiment, combined with Cosmo Cricket Material Girl DP.  The tape measure is part of a DP striped with multiple, coloured tape measures, how cool is that?  I've followed the sketch at Sketch Saturday but also made my card into an easel card, which is so easy to do with buttons to prop it up.  A couple more buttons threaded with baker's twine are at the foot of the card too.  Only drawback to all the buttons, which are "real" buttons rather than tiny craft ones, is that I had to pay extra postage to send this yesterday:).

My card is also for the following challenges:
Sketch Saturday - sketch
Kaboodle Doodle - yellow, blue, pink & green (all in DP!)
My Partner in Crafting Crime - 3 or more buttons
Squigglefly - pushing my buttons
Crafty Pad - use a digi
Creative Inspirations -easel cards
Totally Papercrafts - add buttons
Digital Tuesday - all buttoned up

Paws for the important things in life

Here's one of Phindy's adorable Wee Babbies, used with a matching sentiment from the Create with TLC set.  Each month Paulette and Phnidy have a collaboration and this one is irresistable as it has several sentiments that will be perfect to use with dog images.  This little fellow is called Resistance.  I used my new Prima DP pad again and matched his T-shirt stripe colours to those in the paper.  I also got some stripy twine from Quixotic Paperie that I used on the button and around of the the matted papers.  It arrived less than 24hrs after ordering, which I think is pretty impressive:).  I followed a sketch at ICS which is unusual, really like the effect it gives.
My card is for the following challenges:
Inspirational Card Sketches - sketch
Creative Inspirations Paint - inspired by animals
The Crafty Pad - buttons
2 Sisters - oh baby
Alphabet Challenge - stripes
Fairy Tales - children/babies
Creative Belli - animals and old stash (button)

Top Tip Tuesday Challenge

Good Morning and welcome to another challenge from the Top Tip Tuesday Team!  This week have have a great Copics tutorial for you from Dawn, be sure to check it out!  I've used my Copics to colour a card using an image from this week's sponsors, Whimsy Designs.  It's a shaker card, with flowersoft inside the acetate panel for snow, the background that I've glued my image to is brayered with dye ink to make a scene.  Sorry for the poor photo, we seem plunged into dark and gloomy days at present.  The frame is some blue card flecked with white that I bought at the NEC, the DP is a magazine freebie and the swirl is a Marianne Creatables die.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges:
Creative Belli - use flocking or Flowersoft
Paper Sundaes - let it snow
Charisma Cardz - with love @ Christmas
Creative Inspirations - create a shaker card

PS I have candy - do please join me and play along here
