Pop!

I've a quick posting here, been trying to finish up some of the decoupage cards from sheets cut out and bagged up.   This is Joanna Sheen House Mouse, I love the way the hummingbirds are trying to bring the mouse down to earth by popping his balloon.  The ribbon came from a bunch of flowers I was bought and all I have added is some pearlised lilac card.
My card is for:
Crafts & Me - wings and things
Pixie Cottage - things with wings
Craft your Passion - anything goes
My Craft Spot - for the birds
Pink Elephant - lots of layers
Allsorts Challenge - spread your wings
Papertake Weekly - anything goes

Santa Tag

I'm enjoying a visit from my mother, not much time to craft but last night I sneaked a few minutes to play with new stash from the NEC and made this tag. I'm very into red and white for Christmas at present, what do you think?   The top is shaped with a new label Nestie, the white embossed Santa and sentiment are from a Butterfly Kisses stamp set, again bought at the NEC and unused till now.  The tag was a little flimsy so I added a white back, punched a border to show the white, punched a few snowflakes and gave them red gem centres and added some baker's twine.
My tag is for:
CAS-ual Friday - tag you're it
Stamptacular Sunday - punch it
Cute Card Thursday -reds for remembrance
Pile it On - traditional Christmas
Fabulous Friday - embossing
Christmas Stampin' All Year - stamp never seen ink
Shopping our Stash - never been inked
Pink elephant - embossing
Hooked on Craft - something punched
Bows'n'Berries - tags

Dog Days of Summer

There have been a couple of challenges around called Dog Days of Summer lately, I rather think I've missed the boat with most of them but when I saw this new image from Tracy at Fred She Said, called Emma & Rosie, available from the shop here, it cried out to be made in warm summery colours.  Emma's dress is paper pieced and the DP I've used is by Pink Paislee.  I've added some dew drops, stitching, Stickles and some Crealie die-cut scrolls.  Hope you like my card for the dog days of summer:).
My card is for the following challenges:
Incy Wincy - 3 embellishments (dew drops, Stickles, scrolls), 2 papers, 1 image
Stamp Something - dog days of summer
Cupcake Craftroom - soft and sweet
Heart Song Inspirations - animal or pleated ribbon
The Pink Elephant - stitching
Stamping Scrapping Central - dog days of summer (card uses Stickles which is stocked by SSC)
Clearly Inspired - things with wings (butterflies)

This week at Phindy's Place Challenge we are challenging you to use diecuts somewhere in your creation, how easy is that!  Don't forget that next week is the anything goes using a Phindy image and also we have a Design Team Call out, closing  15 August.  I've used my oval and scalloped oval Nestie dies for my card, which is based on this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday layout.  I've used Tender Tootsies for my card; I LOVE this image and have made several cards with it, she's really enjoying the summer sunshine as well as kicking off her shoes!  Flowers coloured with Copics to try to match the image, DP is Basic Grey Sweet Threads.

My card is for the following challenges:

Phindy's Place Challenge #54 - Embossing

Good morning and welcome to this week's Phindy's Place Challenge, which is to use embossing, dry, heat or both on your card.  You don't have to use one of Phindy's images, but we love it when you do - and you get a second entry into the prize draw!  I used the adorable Kitty Cargo image for my card, colouring it with Copics and Distress Inks.  I've heat embossed my sentiment (Personal Impression stamps combined) and dry emobssed the wall at the top of the card.  The DP is more of that delicious Memory Box Brioche, ribbon came from my DT friend Kathy in a blog candy a while back, I have put eyelets in the corners.  The sketch is from this week's Pink Elephant Challenge.

My card is for the following challenges:
 Pink Elephant - sketch
Pixie Cottage - one for the boys
Flourishes - for a child under 13
Try it on Tuesday - something old (ribbon) something new (DP)
Use it Tuesday - fasteners - brads
Bunny Zoe - one for the boys
Stamps R Us - masculine
Woodware - blue, yellow, brown

Phindy's Place Challenge #50 - Easter Time

Good Morning and welcome to this week's Phindy's Place Challenge, this week we'd like to see your Easter projects, if you don't celebrate Easter it's fine to make a spring card.   You don't have to use one of Phindy's images, but we love it when you do - and you get a second entry into the prize draw!

I've used the fun image "Just Saying Hi" from Phindy's Place, I've also used some Scene-It stamps to create a bit of a background.   Image is coloured with Copics and scene with Distress Inks.  I think giraffes look great with spots and stripes, so I've added in a dotty paper from Bearly Mine as well as a My MInd's Eye stripe.  Frame is a Nestie, text is computer generated.

My card is also for the following challenges:
Bearly Mine - sketch
One Stop Craft - spots and dots
Little Claire's - spring celebrations
Craft Your Days Away - spots and stripes
Creative Cowgirls - spring or Easter
Card Cupids - dots and/or stripes

Whoever stole summer, please give it back!

I'm a bit down in the dumps today, mainly because of the weather. Rain, rain, rain :(. We go on holiday in a week, Windermere where we're going had 1 1/2" rain in a day last time I looked at the weather records. I know, if you want hot summer sun don't book a holiday in England. Just like last year, we booked lateish in the hope that the hay would be in and the kind friend who looks after the horses wouldn't have that to worry about. Of course, just like last year, the hay is sitting wet and uncut...

Anyway, enough whingeing, I've tried to make the sun come out with my card today. Slightly bizarrely, I've begun by looking at the Pile It On Challenge, the Challenge that encourages combining as many challenges as possible in one card. I've not entered this one before, but it's theme of mostly orange sounded fun. I've not managed to combine it with too many other challenges, but I've certainly cracked the orange thing :).

I've used the sketch from the Sketch & Stash Challenge, which is always fun to take part in. I need to list old, neglected and new stash for this one. The gorgeous House Mouse image is negelcted stash, sent to me by my blogging friend Janet ages ago. I love it and haven't wanted to use it up, how silly is that! The sentiment is new, it's from Dimension Fourth and came as part of my July stamps. The bright yellow flower is old stash, it was a freebie with a magzine ages ago and the orange spotty K&K paper is new stash from Newbury Art Stamps show.
I've coloured in with Copics and a grey Promarker, the card candy (faux brads) are from Craftwork Cards and I changed my beige ribbon to orange with my Copics.

The third challenge I've entered is another I've not entered before: Pink Elephant Challenge this week is to use animals on your card.
