I wanted to make a rainbow card using some of my Card Candi mountain and I came up with this card, using an embossing folder that has been sitting in the drawer for years... However I decided that the card just looked too busy. Carefully took off the candy and added tiny gems instead. I coloured the Stampin Up sentiment in with marker pens to keep the rainbow theme.
Which version do you prefer?
I'm entering my card for:
CAS-ology - rainbow
Addicted to CAS - celebrate
Simon Says - anything goes
Both lovely cards - but definitely prefer the second!
ReplyDeleteI like both versions but I see what you mean about the card candi looking too busy. It made me smile though - reminded me of Smarties!

Good idea to use up your card candy but must admit i like the tiny gems one best. Perhaps you can make an actual rainbow with your candy???

Thanks so much for joining Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Actually I really like both cards and how just changing the embellies gives each one such a different feel. The first one feels super exuberant and the second one is a little more dignified. Both awesome though! Thanks for playing along with CASology this week!
ReplyDeleteThese cards make me happy Anne. Love the rainbows.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely rainbow :) I love the gem stones ! thank you for sharing with ATCAS!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post showing how different a card can look just by using different embellies. Excellent, Anne! There is nothing wrong with either, but I think the first one would only work for a child or young person because the effect is fun and the candi really does look like candy: M&Ms!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the second one which looks really balanced and elegant and allows the eyes to focus on the beautiful celebration sediment!
Have a great weekend! Hugs, Darnell
Anne, I love both cards! The first looks festive and cute, while the second is a bit classier/mature. I love that embossing folder...haven't seen that one before...and I do love embossing folders! So glad you joined us at CASology this week!
