Home from holidays
We had a lovely week in the Lake District, the weather was brilliant - apart from one wet day - which is pretty good for the wettest part of England! I coloured a few images for cards while I was away, but mostly we enjoyed the sunshine and went out and about. That's me slogging up Brantfell with Lake Windermere in the background.
One of the high spots of the week was crossing Morecombe Bay with a guide to get us safely across through the quicksands, across the river channels before the tide came in. The River Kent has changed its course again recently, leaving quicksand near the Grange over Sands side where the walk used to be scheduled to finish, which meant a diversion that added another 2 - 2 1/2 miles on to a 9 mile walk - aargh! I went shopping at Graphicus, which is at Barnard Castle. OK it's not in the Lake District by any stretch of the imagination, but it was within driving distance, as was a fly tying shop for Geoff at Penrith... Got some lovely seaside stamp sets; I'll photograph them sometime soon and get playing with them too :).
I've got a card or two to blog but can't get a decent photo tonight, need daylight to get the colours right.

ReplyDeleteAbout the "recipe", I just write that and then copy/paste when writing a new post and add what I used for that card.

Hi Anne
ReplyDeleteGreat that you had a lovely week away - I think the Lake District is fab.
Bet your shopping spree did not just end at the sea side stamps!

So glad you had a great holiday Anne. I thought about you in that wonderful place and the sun shone, fantastic.
ReplyDeleteA trip to Graphicus too, can't be bad. I shall have to make a trip up there, it's not too far from here, but I haven't been yet!!
