I do like to be beside the seaside

I started this card with the intention of entering Twisted Thursday last week when the theme was summer accessories, shamefully I didn't get it finished in time.  When I saw that this week's Twist was to use Red in my card I was really pleased that I had coloured the beach umbrella red and I finished up my card:).

I kept it pretty clean and simple, basing it on this week's Inspirational Card Sketches Challenge.  Image is coloured with Copics, striped card was blog candy, sorry don't know the make.  The sentiments are Joanna Sheen House Mouse.  The cocktail has some Glossy Accents giving the glass a shine, doesn't show up too well in the photo.

This card is for the following challenges:
S2G Twisted Thursday - Use some red
Totally Papercrafts - By the Sea
One Stop Card Craft - Summer Fun
Crafty Cardmakers - It's our Birthday

DT Posting - Twisted Thursday #62 - Something New

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue... Over at Shirleys2Girls Challenge we're still enjoying the joyful June bride images and for this week the challenge is to use something NEW on your card. We've used a wedding theme but you can make any card or proect you want to, as long as it has something new on it. I've made a very clean and simple wedding card, using the adorable Bride & Gifts image which you can buy here. I'm entering my card for the Sweet Stampin' Challenge theme this week, which is Clean & Simple and also for Cupcake Craft Challenge's Strawberries and Cream challenge. Secret Crafter's Challenge for this week is Weddings and Anniversaries, I'm entering their challenge too.The image is new to me, and I used a pretty bird and bloom new Cuttlebug folder. My pretty in pink bride is coloured with Copics and Stickles, love that pink champagne she's drinking :). Image is matted onto Bazzill Bling and added to a scalloped card with just the embossed card and a pink rosebud.

Here come the brides - S2G Bridal Blog Hop!

S2G DT is having a BLOG HOP! Welcome! If you've arrived from Lisa's fabulous blog then you're in the right place, if you've just happened upon the hop then you should set out from the S2G Challenge Blog. This hop is all about that Special Day in a girl's life! It's all about Weddings, Showers, Brides and LURVE! S2G has created a bunch of great new digital stamps just for the occasion and I'd like to show you my wedding day card:Digi is called simply Bride, you can buy her here . I've coloured her with Copics and Stickles and edged the image with Distress Inks and Brilliance Gold ink from a reinker bottle. I've used the reinker on the DP which is Basic Grey Capella. The swirls are cut with a punch and have more of that Brilliance ink on them, the sentiment is Hero Arts. I've followed the sketch from One Stop Craft Challenge for my card and I'm also entering it for Stamp Something's Happy Challenge - what could be happier than a wedding day?

Shirleys2Girls are giving away 2 amazing prizes for the hop and you don't want to miss out on this one! The GRAND PRIZE is: 3 of the new Bridal Digi stamps, some Bride clear stamps, lots of ribbons, inks, embellies, DP, glitter and other fab girly-blingy things. There's also a runner-up prize of your choice of two of the new Bridal digi stamps. Check out the prize:We still have a Twisted Thursday Challenge for you to enter: this week your challenge is to use something OLD on your project, mine was the sentiment stamp that I used. The DT have all used the bridal stamps but you don't need to play along with the wedding theme, as long as you use something old you're in!

Your next stop on the hop will be the very talented Jeannie, the hop runs until Weds 23 June, hope you've enjoyed your visit:).

DT Posting - Twisted Thursday #60 - Tickled Pink!

It's time for another Twisted Thursday Challenge from Shirleys2Girls. This week the twist is simply to use some PINK on your card or project, yes it's as simple as that. The new images this month are all about babies and weddings and the DT has some fabulous baby cards for you to check out this week, but you don't need to make a baby card, just so long as there's a piece of pink somewhere:).

I've based my card on a sketch from Card Positioning Systems that I thought worked well with the pink lace and the embossed scalloped border that I wanted to use. The adorable image I've used is called Puppy Love, you can buy it here. It's coloured with Copics, the DP is an old Basic Grey (possibly Two Scoops?). The hearts were cut with a Sizzlits die and then dry embossed with the Swiss Dots folder. Scalloped border (and card) are from Craftwork Cards, ribbon from my sewing stash.

Please check out the challenge blog for full details and be sure to visit the other Ladies with Attitude, check out their amazing creations and leave them some love, here's the team: Ann, Anne (me), Carlie, Cat, Debbie, Georgia, Gina, Jane,Jeannie, Judy and Lisa.

DT Posting - Twisted Thursday #59 - Baby blues - use BLUE on your card

This week the S2G DT is all about babies and weddings; this week we're having fun with the adorable baby images available in the shop. I've made a fun gatefold card that gives the fabulous Celebrations image centre stage on my card. DP was a freebie from a magazine, the lacy ribon is from Stamp Attic. Image coloured with Copics. I hope you'll play along, the twist is for your card or project to use the colour BLUE. You don't have to make a baby card, you just have to use some blue!

Please check out the challenge blog for full details and be sure to visit the other Ladies with Attitude, check out their amazing creations and leave them some love, here's the team: Ann, Anne (me), Carlie, Cat, Deanne, Debbie, Georgia, Gina, Jane,Jeannie, Judy and Lisa.

DT Posting - Twisted Thursday #58 - Hooray for Dads

This week Twisted Thursday Challenge is all about Dads, the challenge is to make a card for the special man in your life (doesn't have to be your Dad) and to use a masculine image. They have a lovely new release of digis, and since my DH is a fisherman I got a head start on cards from the boys with Big Fish, which you can buy here. I coloured my fish my Copics, some Stickles and lots of Glossy Accents. The tape with the fishing flies printed on it comes in beige, I've coloured it deep bluey green with my Copics, the flies show up better in real life. DP is Daisy Bucket and my sentiment is made-up and computer generated.

Twisted Thursday Challenge #57 - Favourite Colour

It's time for Shirleys2Girls' Twisted Thursday Challenge and this week the twist is to use your favourite colour. My favourite colour is blue and I've decided to go monochrome with my blue card. You don't need to though, as long as you use some of your favourite colour then you've nailed the twist and you're in the challenge:). Please check out the challenge blog for full details and be sure to visit the other Ladies with Attitude, check out their amazing creations and leave them some love, here's the team: Ann, Anne (me), Carlie, Cat, Deanne, Debbie, Georgia, Gina, Jana, Jane,Jeannie, Judy and Lisa.

I based my card on the sketch at Card Positioning Systems, adding a bit to the RH side of it. I'm also entering the Copic Creations Challenge to make a monochrome card. The image and sentiment are a S2G image called Taking a Break, you can buy it here. Image is printed onto Basic Grey DP and then onto plain white cardstock. The white version was coloured with shades of blue and grey/blue, cut out and added to the blue DP image. Background DP is My Minds Eye, image is secured to it with brads. The thread I've added to it is hand dyed perle thread from my stash.

DT Posting - Twisted Thursday #56 - use ribbon

Good Morning! It's time for Twisted Thursday again, the Shirleys2Girls weekly challenge. This week we have a super-easy challenge for you - just use some ribbon somewhere on your project. Yes, that's it! So no excuses not to play along:).

I've used Wear Red, one of the fun digis from the Ladies with Attitude collection, you can buy here here. She's coloured with Copics on a paper pieced background. The outer die cut frame is a Nellie Snellen, I seem to have a lot of trouble getting these dies to cut cleanly, seems a corner always gets left behind... DPs are Basic Grey, ribbons and ric-rac are from stash.

Twisted Thursday Challenge - Welcome!

Shirleys2Girls have the theme of Home for their Twisted Thursday Challenges for May. This week, the twist is to make a card or project that includes the word WELCOME. It could be a welcome to Spring card, anything you like!

I've used a very sweet cat image, Cat on a Pillow, from the S2G shop for my card. I've based it on Maya's great sketch from Sketch Saturday Challenge. Image is completely paper pieced from Basic Grey Sugar Rush DP, the background has been sponged with Distress Ink. Sentiment is computer generated, flowers are punched from the same DP, gems from Hobby House. My kitty card is also entered for A Spoonful of Sugar's Challenge this week, which is Furry Friends.
Please check out the challenge blog for full details and be sure to visit the other Ladies with Attitude, check out their amazing creations and leave them some love, here's the team: Ann, Anne (me), Carlie, Cat, Deanne, Debbie, Georgia, Gina, Jana, Jane,Jeannie, Jennifer, Judy and Lisa.

DT Post - Twisted Thursday #54 - It's all about Mother

It's Twisted Thursday and this week the Shirley2Girls Challenge is "All About Mother". I've based my clean & simple card on a great sketch at the CPS Challenge. The image isn't a standard Mother's Day one but I am in love with the April in Paris digis and wanted to use La Promenade for my card, you can buy it here. Sentiment is also from S2G, both are coloured with Copics. I've used plain cardstock for once, not a sniff of a patterned DP! Swiss Dots are Cuttlebugged onto the yellow cardstock and the blue is edged with a Martha Stewart lattice arch punch. The card candy is from Craftwork Cards and the ribbon from stash.

My card uses the achingly chic image Tres Francais, available from S2G here. I've coloured with Copics and Stickles, matting my image onto a Nestie oval and scalloped oval "out of the box" with the Eifffel Tower against the Cuttelbugged background. The DPs aren't easy to see, they are both Stampin' Up. I've added some stitching for texture and a further dry embossed line to pand bottom, using my Scor-Pal, for a bit of interest. I'm also entering the card for the Simon Says Challenge, movie time and dry embossing (there are lots of films based in Paris, all I can think of with the Eiffel Tower is the Lavender Hill Mob!), and also for Stamp Something's Stitch Something theme and Sew Many Challenges also appropriately shares the same theme of stitching.
