Phindy's Place Challenge #60 - Black & White

Good Morning, welcome to Friday and welcome to a new Phindy's Place Challenge. Before I tell you about the new challenge, we have an exciting change coming up on the Phindy's Place Challenge Blog: from July we are having Phabulous Phindy Friday: on the first Friday of each month: this will be an Anything Goes Challenge with a twist: you can make absolutely anything, combine it with as many other challenges as you like, as long as you use a Phindy's Place image and have made a NEW project for the challenge - no backlinking please! So you will have plenty of time to get your fabulous Phindy project ready for the first of each month!

This week our challenge is to make a black and white card; you can use colour in your image if you wish, but just black and white for the rest of your card please.  You   don't have to use one of Phindy's images to enter the challenge,  but  we  love it when you do - and you get a second entry into the prize  draw!  I used Lula Shopping for my card, a rather sophisticated gal who suits the restricted colour palette!  She's coloured with Copics and left on a bright white background.  The two DPs are both sides of some Stampin. Up DP and the main piece is embossed cardstock that I've sponged with Soot Distress Ink.  I've added some lace and some gingham ribbon, home made flowers with a touch of pink and a set of 4 white and 4 black pearls on the image.
My card is for the following challenges:
Digital Tuesday - gingham
Card Positioning Systems - sketch
Stamping Scrapping Challenge - embossing
StampsR Us - 1 image, 2 patterned papers, 3 embellishments
Card and Scrap - lace and ribbon
Bling it On - embossing
Digi Design House - pearls and lace
Happileigh Scrappin - embossing
Stamp with Fun - pearls and flowers

Aqualegia/columbine/granny's bonnets - pretty whatever you call it!

This is a simple card made with the pre-coloured digis from Fred She Said, I was making this to add to my Blog Hop posting last week but didn't get it finished in time.  The Blog Hop is still running until Friday night, if you've not already hopped do come and join in the fun, we've great prizes to win, the fun starts with "Fred" herself, here.  Image was printed twice, one cut with a nestie and the flower cut out from the other and attached with lots of Pinflair glue to give it dimension.  It's mounted onto Coredinations card with the edges distressed, I've sanded the embossing on the Coredinations background.  Both mats are stitched, the sentiment is from  Stampin Up.

My card is for the following challenges:

Stamp with Fun - in the garden
Crafty Emma - embossing
Wag'n'Whiskers - stitching
Paper Play - blossoms and blooms

Almond Blossom

We've a great new release at Tiffany Doodles this week, both images are available as digis to colour, or pre-coloured.  I've used the Flowering Almond, pre-coloured, which is simply stunning.  I've printed it twice, cutting one out with a Nestie die and colouring the background with Distress Inks, the second one is decoupaged over the top with Pinflair Glue to give it lots of dimension.  The DPs are Prima, the sentiment is from a Do-Crafts magazine freebie stamp, lace and ribbon are from my stash.
This card is for the following challenges:
Sketch Saturday - sketch
Digital Tuesday - ribbon and lace
Dream Valley -flowers
Crafty Sentiments - flowers
Clear it out Tuesday -ribbon or trim
Squigglefly - spring flowers/ May flowers
Stamp with Fun - lace or ribbon
There She Goes - 3D flowers

Phindy's Place Challenge #50 - Easter Time

Good Morning and welcome to this week's Phindy's Place Challenge, this week we'd like to see your Easter projects, if you don't celebrate Easter it's fine to make a spring card.   You don't have to use one of Phindy's images, but we love it when you do - and you get a second entry into the prize draw!

I've used the fun image "Just Saying Hi" from Phindy's Place, I've also used some Scene-It stamps to create a bit of a background.   Image is coloured with Copics and scene with Distress Inks.  I think giraffes look great with spots and stripes, so I've added in a dotty paper from Bearly Mine as well as a My MInd's Eye stripe.  Frame is a Nestie, text is computer generated.

My card is also for the following challenges:
Bearly Mine - sketch
One Stop Craft - spots and dots
Little Claire's - spring celebrations
Craft Your Days Away - spots and stripes
Creative Cowgirls - spring or Easter
Card Cupids - dots and/or stripes
Stamps R Us - Easter
Stamp with Fun - Easter
Pink Elephant - Easter
Ooh la la - Easter

Easter Bonnet takes in a lot of challenges

What do you think of my lovely Easter bonnet? It's a gorgeous digi from Shirleys2Girls.

I've printed and coloured it twice, popping one up on silicon glue to give it dimension. Image is coloured with Copics, Stickles, Glossy Accents and two tiny flower buttons. Sentiment is also Shirleys2Girls, comes with the digi. The image is mounted onto a piece of Cuttlebigged cardstock that has been distressed around the edges (doesn't show up too well in the photo). The punch is a Martha Stewart pansy punch, with Liquid Pearls on the flower centres. All the DP is Basic Grey Cupcake, ribbons, buttons and thread are all from stash.

You can't beat a good book

I've used a new Mary Hall stamp from Sugar Nellie to make this card. As soon as I saw the sneak peek of it on the SN blog I knew it would find its way home with me :).

The card is for several challenges: first of all the colour scheme is from this week's Passion for Promarkers Challenge: Gold & Ruby with jewels or gems. I've got Gold but I had to substitute Poppy for Ruby as I don't have too many colours yet. I've used the sketch from The Next Level, which is to be used with a 3D effect. I've decoupaged the image, the girl and cushions are raised on pads and then I've put a third layer for her mug, the cat and the book. Stamp with Fun and Dutch Dare both have Challenges to use dies or punches; I've used Nestie circles and I've cut the flowers with a die as well.

On to the card: I've used all Promarkers to colour the image, which is stamped with Cocoa Brown Memento onto white card. Face is Vanilla with some grey shading, dress is cocoa and the rest is Poppy and Gold. I also used the Promarkers to colour pearls to give the card its gems, to colour the flowers I diecut from white card and to colour the lemon yellow ribbon. Aren't they brilliant for this? I plan to buy a couple of reels of ivory ribbon, knowing I can colour it however I want...

The two papers are Artylicious, one from the Seasons Greetings CD and one from Graphicus Guild membership paper. The sentiment is by Elusive Images. The picture isn't the best, I hope to take a better one in the morning, in daylight :).
