Owl Miss You - My Grafico Challenge #29

This is my last card for the My Grafico Design Team, we've had a great team for the last six months and I wish the new team well for the future :).

This week's Challenge at My Grafico is to either follow Mary's sketch or to make a card using red and green that isn't a Christmas card. The winner of the Challenge recieves the set Zoom Vroom from the site and the Design Team was each given an image from it to work with. I've followed Mary's sketch and used red and green for the owl balloon. Image is cut out and popped onto foam pads, it's coloured with Copics. The main DP came from Stamp Addict's sale last January, no idea who made it, the other red is Basic Grey. Computer generated sentiment, Martha Stewart punch for the borders.

My Grafico Challenge #27

It's My Grafico Challenge time again. This week the DT was given an image from Tutti Fruitti, the fun set of digi stamps that is the prize for the winner of this week's challenge. So what do you have to do to enter? You can follow the sketch or you can make a project using gingham, or you can do both!

I had some DPs from a magazine with strawberries on that I used, which gave me my colourscheme. I've printed out multiple berries and coloured them with Copics, then done some physical cut and paste onto my card:). The text is computer generated.

My Grafico Challenge #26 - Dotti images

It's time for My Grafico's Challenge again! This week the DT was given images from the Dotti Stamp Set which is this week's challenge prize. To enter the challenge you can either follow the PIEChallenge (see the challenge blog for details) or the sketch - or both! I have Pink, Embellishments and Icicle Stickles, which makes mine a PIE card but I've also followed Mary's sketch.
I've coloured Dotti with Copics and lots of Stickles glitter. I trimmed an inch off the front of my card and used a Martha Stewart lattice punch on it. Inside the card I put a strip of silver mirri card and pink card. The DPs are Twenty-ninth Street, card candy from Craftwork Cards, sentiment from Elusive Images and ric-rac from my stash.

My Grafico Challenge #24 - a sketch

It's My Grafico Challenge time again. This week the challenges are: use pink, green and orange or follow Mary's great sketch. The digi images that you can win are the
Dilek Sweety Girls, which the DT were given to work with this week. I've coloured with Copics and a white gel pen, edging the image with mustard seed Distress Ink. The papers are free papers from a magazine.

My Grafico Challenge #24 - sketch or sewing

This week's challenge at My Grafico is to either follow Melissa's sketch or to add some stitching, real or faux to your project. The winner of the Challenge this week wins a fun digital set from Cupcake Cuties called Funky Monkey, which the DT have used on all our projects.

I've been contrary and used the tree motif included :). I've paper pieced it with Papermain DP that I bought at the NEC, and coloured the heart with Copics and then Glossy Accents. The background is cut out with Nesties . The rest of the papers are also Papermania, apart from the torn brown wrapping paper that I've added to highlight the rustic look. Card candy is from Craftwork Cards and I've added some zig-zag stitching to my card.

My Grafico Challenge #23 - sketch

It's time for another My Grafico Challenge, this week the DT have used a set called Arabian Paradise, which is the prize for this week's challenge. You can follow the colour challenge and use purple, cerise and gold and you can follow the sketch, or you can even do both :). I've followed the sketch for my card and, as I've used a long thin card I've stretched my Arabian palace image out to fit it, one of the useful things about having a digi image rather than a rubber stamp is that you can tinker around with the size and/or proportions to make them work for your card. I've printed the palace onto paper that was sprayed with Glimmer Mist and added a gem to one of the spires. This is cut out and stuck onto DP from Artylicious. The rest of the card uses the Glimmer Misted paper again, with a sentiment from Dimension Fourth and a flourish stamp from Personal Expressions, with a few more gems added for interest.

My Grafico Challenge #22 - sketch

This week at the My Grafico Challenge we have a great sketch from Mary to work with. This week we are showcasing the pretty Mix and Match Flower Stems set by Mujka, available here. To win this set you need to enter the Challenge, which is either to make a Thank You card, or follow Mary's sketch, or even do both! You have until midnight Sunday to enter.

My card follows the sketch. I've printed the stem out onto pink pearlised card matted onto bronze pearlised card. The image is stamped onto the same card and added to it. The two papers behind the image are Basic Grey Indian Summer and some ribbon from my stash completes a very simple Get Well card.

Feeling Crumby?

It's challenge time at My Grafico and this week we've gone retro with a fun digi set of vintage appliances which you can buy here. If you'd like to win this set there are two challenges on the blog, one a colour challenge, the other a sketch and you can enter either or both.

The theme at the Simon Says Challenge this week is Get Well Soon and was published just as I was getting ready to post this. Couldn't resist entering, I think this is a really fun Get Well card. I'm trying to decide whether or not to send it to my Post Pal, usually we're asked not to put things like "get well soon" on their cards because their illness is likely to be so serious, but I thought this might make her smile... What do you think? I'd like to interrupt my blog post with a quick commercial for Post Pals here :) If you're a cardmaker please think about looking at their site and sending off a few cards to brighten the day for an ill child who may be undergoing treatment for cancer, leukaemia, any of the life threatening illnesses.

I've taken a slight liberty with the sketch and made it into a pop-up card, after all what could be more appropriate for an image of a toaster? :0). Image is coloured with Copics in that vintage appliance blue and the words use a free font download, they are also coloured with Copics. The images are edged with China Blue Distress Ink and matted onto navy. The papers on the pop-up part of the card were free ones that came with a magazine and I've stamped swirls from a Personal Impressions stamp set around the edge of the main card in the same China Blue.

My Grafico Challenge 20 - tags

It's Challenge Time again on MyGrafico. This week we are using a fun tag set, available here. You can win the set if you enter the Challenge. You can play along by making something with and include buttons, or you can follow a sketch as I've done.

My card follows the sketch to make a CAS Halloween card. I printed the rectangle tag, in two sizes onto DP downloaded from Summer Driggs' site. The larger tag has paper pieced pumpkins and a witch from a stamp set by Creative Expressions, the smaller tag uses a mini alphabet to stamp out "Boo!". The other DP comes from Artylicious.

My Grafico Sketch Challenge #19 - breast cancer awareness month

This week there are two Challenges at the My Grafico Challenge Blog and you can enter for either or both. On Monday the challenge was to make anything pink, today there is a fun sketch from Melissa to follow. To mark breast cancer awareness month the prize for this week's challenge you can win a set of designs highlighting it from Kelly Medina.

I've used the clip art version of Kelly's stamps to make my card. The flowers and butterfly are printed on paper that has been sprayed with Glimmer Mists in pastel shades. The flowers are mounted onto green Bazzill basics card and have a brad and Card Candy faux brads added, as well as Glamour Dust to give them a bit of sparkle. The butterfly is cut out into a circle and a larger circle of double-sided card glued over the top. The circle had a smaller circle drawn lightly onto it and I cut it into six pie segements, folding it back to expose the butterfly and show off the double sided card. The same card, from My Mind's Eye, was used on the main card, with the corners folded back and secured by more brads, with more card candy to finish it off, making a very pink, girlie card :)

Tuesday Morning Sketches meets My Grafico Challenge!

This week My Grafico Challenge is joining forces with Melissa's Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge, which gives you the chance to win TWO prizes! At My Grafico you can win a sporty car set of digi-stamps and at TMS there's another set of My Grafico digi-stamps up for grabs; this time an adorable girl set.

I used a lovely freebie image from My Grafico for my take on Melissa's sketch, printed onto Graphicus Guild paper. The other papers are also Graphicus Guild, the sentiment is Elusive Images. I've matted image and sentiment onto gold card and used card candy from Craftwork Cards to finish off my card. Please forgive the brief description; today should have been a day off work to deal with my beef for the next year or so, with the help of a local butcher, however an ill husband, a work meeting that couldn't be re-scehduled and a long piece of English coursework to be checked and discussed from my older son, as well as my elderly Kenwood Chef blowing up part way through mincing 50lb of stewing beef have made it a long day :).

Funky Flamingo

It's time for the My Grafico Challenge again, which I found quite a tough one to work with :). We are using a very cute set of flamingos having holiday fun at the beach and the theme is retirement! Hmm... I've also made my card to a recipe for this week's Simon Says Challenge, which is is a 3-2-1 with 3 embellishments, 2 papers and 1 image.

Image coloured with Copics, yellow Stickles added to the hat and necklace. The background was painted from a Stonewashed Adirondack ink pad. The image was cut out using Rach's out of the frame technique and mounted onto golden sand coloured Bazzill card. The two papers came from a huge K& Co box that I got when I went to Graphicus. The ribbon is from stash and the 2 flowers are Prima from a pack I chose when I was lucky enough to win the Simon Says challenge in July. I thought I had a Happy Retirement stamp somewhere from an assortment of stamps I bought on Ebay but I couldn't find it, so I opted for an Elusive Images sentiment: "Enjoy Yourself" which fits the theme but could also work for other occasions too. The colour scheme is meant to be hot and sunny, hope you like it!

My Grafico Challenge #16 - Autumn

It's challenge time again at the My Grafico Challenge Blog! This week you have the chance to win this beautiful set of Autumn digi-stamps:
All you need to do is to create a card, a layout, whatever creative project you'd like to make for Autumn, using a 3-2-1 recipe: One image, two design papers and three embellishments. I've used the girl and leaves image, coloured with Copics and cut out with a Nestabilities die. The two DPs are either side of a piece of K & Co Que Sera paper and my three embellishments are leaves cut out from paper, with veins marked on using my scoring board.

It feels very Autumnal here, though the leaves haven't changed colour. There are lots of lovely stubble fields to ride across on the farms and there is a real nip in the air, I do like this time of year...

Back to School notebook

I've used an image from the very cute digi-set that is the prize for this week's My Grafico challenge: School Kids , to decorate a notebook for the new school term. Enter your card or crafty creation and you could be the winner of this adorable set. Back to School is also the theme at Cute Card Thursday this week.

My notebook is pretty simple, I've paper pieced the coat and boots from a piece of Artylicious DP and coloured the rest of the image with Copics. The edges of the image have been distressed with Dusty Concord Distress Ink and it's been mounted onto the same purple DP. Two more Artylicious DPs and a piece of ribbon from my stash make up the rest of the decoration. Oh, I rounded the corners of the papers with a punch.

Here's my cArd made to celebrate this week's blog hop:
We were challenged to use pink, red and green with our sweet image. I've printed out my ice cream cone several times to layer it and give it dimension with sticky pads. It's coloured with Copics. The background is hand-made paper coloured with the shaving foam and alcohol ink technique. Brads are Papermania and the very apt DP is Basic Grey cupcake of course!

My Grafico Challenge #11 - Sketch Time

The Challenge this week at My Grafico is to use the sketch to make a celebration card for a birthday or other occasion. The DT was given the choice of a lovely set from Cocoa Studio called "Happy Birthday to You" to work with. I opted for the yummy three-tier cake and got so carried away using it that I forgot all about the sketch - oops :(.

I printed out three times, coloured the cake with Copics and added some Glossy Accents, then cut out two layers and added foam pads to build up 3D layers. I trimmed the bottom image into a long thin rectangle, edged it with Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick. I made a DL card blank from brown pearlescent paper, used a Woodware punch down the RH side and added a strip of pink pearlescent card inside the card to highlight the border. The card is finished with a Craftwork Cards butterfly sentiment and card candy (faux brads).

So I have a pretty chocolate and pink card that looks nothing like the sketch :)

My Grafico Challenge #10 - Brown & Teal

This week's Challenge at My Grafico is to use the lovely colour combination of brown and teal.
The winner gets the digi stamp set Garden Elements used this week by the Design Team. I can honestly say this is one of my favourite sets. Before I was picked for the DT at My Grafico I was lucky enough to win a challenge. The prize was any one of the sets from the site and this is the one I picked, it's so versatile. Check out the DT work, it's really lovely.

For my card I arranged the three different flowers in a row and printed them onto a teal blue paper from my Graphicus Guild membership, an Artylicous background paper and some pearlized blue card. I've assembled the flowers in several different layers using the papers and added pale blue Stickles. I've edged the image with Distress Ink in Scattered Straw and coloured the stems with Promarkers. I've added some teal organza ribbon and some brown brads and mounted it onto a brown pearlized card and then added it to my card.

My Grafico Challenge - Fruity Fun

This week brings another great challenge at My Grafico - Fruity Fun. The prize is a great digi-stamp set: Yummy Fruits. I've made an anniversary/wedding card with one of the images. I've reduced it, mirrored it and made a border on white cardstock that I coloured with a Copic and a Promarker. Two more pears are coloured with the pens, mounted onto foam pads and coated with Glossy Accents. The image is mounted onto Bazzill card in green and then yellow and then onto a fern print cardstock. The sentiment is computer generated.
