New stash...

I've broken my stash diet over the weekend, but I made this tonight, using the new stash so maybe that mitigates it:).  I've combined making a "Less is More" card with the make your own embellies that Simon Says Challenge calls for this week.  Embellies and C&S don't necessarily go together but I think I've pulled it off, what do you think?

Embossing folder with sentiment is Papermania.  Flower is a Hero Arts stamp, stamped onto scrap DP and with a touch of green Copic colouring it in.  Yellow and green are what Spring is all about, to me.  So what's with all the grey blah weather outside??  I've added some Glossy Accents and beads to the centre.  The leaves are made with a Woodware punch and I've scored veins onto the leaves.

If anyone can suggest how to minimise the lines at the edge of the embossing folder I'd love to know, however they look less prominent in real life:)

My card is for the following challenges:
Simon Says - make your own embellishments
Less is More - Spring
Incy Wincy - punches or dies
Charisma Cardz - Spring has sprung
Spoonful of Sugar - birthday wishes

  1. Pretty card I love the embossing on it. I think I've read somewhere that you cut a piece of tan mat slightly smaller than your embossing folder, so it doesn't go right up to the edge.Put it through with your folder . Sorry I don't know if it goes under or on top. Glad you had a lovely trip, looks like you got some good stash especially your pocket storage.Love the pictures, looks a lovely place to visit. 3. I'd say you pulled this one off with bells on Anne!
    I love it, I think it's Ace!
To get rid of those lines from the embossing folder, you need to make a tailor made 'B' plate from layers of card, longer but narrower than the folder. The thing which gives the lines are the edges of the folder, so if you use layers of cardboard narrower than the folder and use it instead of the upper embossing plate you will avoid those lines.
Not terribly well explained, but the wine over dinner may have something to do with that!
Great to see you again and see you next week.

  5. The make normally makes a difference. Sizzix addressed this problem and bevelled their edges of their folders, I think possibly an extra piece of paper making an extra 'shim' may help
    Sure someone will know!
    Super card, perfect CAS

  7. This card is beautiful. I love the embossing. It is difficult but not impossible to get rid of the lines from an embossing folder. What I do is disguise the ugly lines as I call them by using an embossing board to emboss over the marks left by the folder. then you get embossed lines that look as though they should be there. I hope this makes sense, if not contact me.
