The Nordic Winter stamp set from Waltzing Mouse was love at first sight for me, unfortunately I'm waiting for a full set of the stamps as the supplier sent out a faulty batch, including my set.  However Claire the owner of WM emailed all who had bought the sets to track down and make sure that any faulty stamps were identified and replaced.  Mistakes happen, to me it is how they are dealt with that shows the quality of a business.  Full marks to Claire for reacting like this, it certainly gives me faith in her as a customer.
Anyhow, I used the stamps that were ok, or short lengths of them, to make this tag for the Waltzing Mouse Challenge.  The white on red sentiment is a better match to the ink in real life!  I stamped 3 little squares and made a 3D shape for the bottom, attached with a jump ring, also added some red gems.  Beautiful, detailed stamps that really don't need anything adding to them.
My tag is entered for:
Waltzing Mouse - Christmas Tag Challenge
Craft Your Passion - tag you're it
PanPastel UK - gift tags
Designed to Delight - tag you're it
Shopping our Stash - tag it crafty

April Showers bring May Flowers

It's time for my weekly Designed2Delight digi card. Make a card with this week's image and blog it, get the next image free, you know the form by now, if not check out Faith's blog:). This week's image is a cool chick out in April showers, I've coloured with Copics and Stickles and edged the image with Distress Inks. The DP is Basic Grey's Green at Heart, sentiment from Craftwork Cards, ribbon from stash. The punch is a Martha Stewart border punch.

I've followed the sketch at Midnight Madness Challenge for my card. The Creative Card Crew has April Showers bring May Flowers for their theme and the Simon Says Challenge this week is Things with Wings, which is both the ladybird and the chick :).

Bears love spring flowers

Here is this week's Designed2Delight challenge card, as before it's a progressive freebie: make and blog a card with the free image and receive the next image free. I will admit that I had a problem with this image, until I went back to Faith's email, where she points out that she left the bear's mouth "as is", so you can add his expression. Once I drew a smile in, he looked like a happy bear rather than a "sorry I messed up" bear:).

I used a lovely sketch from Card Patterns that seemed to work really well with the Basic Grey papers that I just got and wanted to highlight. I'm also entering my card for Paper Sundae's Challenge of making a card without people on it.

Image is coloured with Copics and Stickles, DP is Basic Grey's Green at Heart. Flower is made with scalloped circle Nesties and some Stickles, the thread is hand dyed perle from my stash. I've not added a sentiment to my card, I can add one on a label from the thread when I'm ready to use the card, it's a versatile image.

A Little Note - Corrosive Challenges DT

This week's theme at Corrosive Challenges is to use texture in your project. I've gone for several different types: dry embossing, raffia, a feather and smooth Glossy Accents. Totally Gorjuss also has a texture challenge this week so I'm entering my card for their challenge too. I made my card using this week's free digi from Designed to Delight, as this is the first week of the month you can download it free. If you make and blog a project with it, you get next week's free. But hurry, you've got until Monday night to get your card made:). I used the sketch from Papertake Weekly to make my card, though the sentiment has ended up in the opposite corner as I ran out of room:).

Image is coloured with Copics, Distress Ink on the edges is Broken China, petals are coated with Glossy Accents. Sentiment is from Elusive Images, papers are a My Minds Eye pack that came free with a magazine and some Cuttlebugged pink card.

The Keeper of the Light

Hooray for Bank Holidays, I've got two cards to blog in a day! This week's freebie from Faith at Designed2Delight is a lighthouse scene which makes a great card for a man. I have taken some artistic licence with my card as you will see; the lighthouse is working on a bright sunny day:). I've coloured my image with Copics and added Glossy Accents to the wave tops and the windows on the lighthouse. I've added a charm from Quixotic Paperie to my scene. 2 DPs are Basic Grey from Cupcake and the background one is My Mind's Eye. Brads are from stash, card candy from Craftwork Cards.

My card is based on the sketch at this week's Card Positioning Systems Challenge. and I've followed the recipe of 3 papers, 2 brads, 1 embellishment at I Love Digis. Sweet Stampin's Challenge this week is It's a Man's World, I think this is a great man's card image. Crafty Creations has an anything goes theme week and so does Anything Ink. Simple Doodles has the theme of layers, plenty on here:).

Every Garden Needs an Angel...

This week's Designed2Delight image is of a garden angel. After the winter we've just had my garden is in dire need of some help, hopefully she can sprinkle a little magic... I've made my card using the sketch at Card Patterns Challenge , Secret Crafter's theme is pink, green and flowers, so that's the colourscheme sorted, Charisma Cardz' Challenge is Spring has Sprung and that gives my theme.

My angel has a paper pieced dress and is coloured with Copics, with Distress Inks stippled onto the background. DP is K&K, picket fence punch is Martha Stewart. Flowers are made from Little Claire's die, raffia was left over from the flower arranging class on Satuday. I've added Stickles and Liquid pearls to the image and the flowers.

Spring Primroses in Bloom

I'm home again from a wonderful week at the Cheltenham Festival where we saw a new Champion crowned in Imperial Commander. Shame I didn't back him as I'd intended to all week LOL! It's rained all day today so it was a good day to catch up on some crafting, so I began with my image from Faith at Designed2Delight. As ever, if you make a project with the image before the deadline, you get the next image free to play along. I noticed after I had finished my card that Faith drew them after seeing some spring pansies when the snow melted. I've made mine into primroses, but they are still spring-like:).

My card is based on the sketch at Card Patterns, I keep missing great sketches here when I run out of time, I've got in promptly with this week's sketch. Allsort's Challenge theme this week is Spring is in the Air and that fits this card just fine, as does the Secret Crafter's Saturday Challenge with Spring has Sprung. Pile it On has the challenge of pastel colours and One Stop Craft Challenge's theme is to Let it Shine. The only shiny part of my card is the Liquid Pearls in the centres of the flowers but I think the colours are like spring sunshine, and I think it works for the Challenge.

Designed2Delight image is paper pieced, decoupaged with silicon glue and coloured with Copics. The flower centres have dots of Liquid Pearls. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and all DP is Stampin' Up.

Life's a Balancing Act

Quite a few fellow bloggers have been playing along at the Designed2Delight blog and I have succumbed and joined them, the image this week is too cute to resist:). Here's how it works: Buy the current challenge image, make a project with it, receive the next week's image free. Next week, same again, if you play along you get the image, and so it goes on.

I've used Papertake Weekly's sketch, as ever this challenge blog has really useable sketches and I've followed Paper Sundae's Colour Challenge of crystal blue, hollyhock and sweetleaf.

Image is printed twice, coloured with Copics and Glossy Accents and popped up on silicon glue. There's an extra bird on the sentiment :). My Mind's Eye DP were a magazine freebie, gems and gem flowers from stash. Sentiment is computer generated.
